CHEPSTOW JOINS INTERNATIONAL PLASTIC BAG FREE DAY
Category: General
Posted by: nikki
Transition Chepstow is joining in with the first international Plastic Bag Free day on the 12th September by asking locals to swap their disposable plastic bag for a reusable ‘My Chepstow Bag’ or even better, not to use a bag at all if they don’t need one. The day will highlight how we can all reduce our reliance on plastic and leave the carrier bags at the check out.

Chepstow is one of many towns across the UK and the world that are taking a stand against unnecessary plastic packaging and waste. Many local traders have already pledged to reduce their use of disposable plastic bags, but we are asking all traders to encourage customers to use their reusable bags rather than taking a disposable one on Plastic Bag Free Day.
There will be posters around the town to remind people to take part and you can download the voucher here to claim your free ‘My Chepstow Bag’ from one of our local traders. For more information on where you can pick up your bag and how you can get involved with more Transition Chepstow events, visit our website www.transitionchepstow.org.uk

Imagine our town with no plastic bags! So when you are at the till on Saturday 12th September, think about how you can do your bit for our local environment and say no to that disposable plastic bag.
